Head Coach and Owner:

James Bilderbeck

James is Head Coach of the women’s varsity soccer team at South Eugene High School. He completed his D-license from the U.S. Soccer Federation in 2019 and is in the process of completing his C-license.

James found a passion for coaching at a young age. In his high school years he volunteered as a soccer coach for the local YMCA in his hometown of Topanga. Additionally, he played club soccer for four years at Barcelona California and played for Palisades High School. After graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 2015 he moved Seattle. There he began coaching professionally with Kidz Love Soccer and the Seattle YMCA, before joining Seattle Celtic Soccer Club in 2016. He coached at the club, now the largest in Washington, for four years and developed his expertise through their mentorship program and studiously observing and collaborating with other coaches at the club in their practices and games. In 2020, James moved to Eugene, Oregon.

Mission

My goal for Oregon Rapids is to implement an elite level of coaching centered around the players to help them develop a deep love for soccer and the process of improvement. I have learned something from every job I’ve had and I’m continually looking for ways to build upon and improve my coaching. Based on my experience in other large organizations, I intend to create a unique soccer environment that truly puts players first. -Coach James
