What People Are Saying

“Madeline benefited immeasurably from your coaching. Certainly on the pitch but also from your ability to motivate and cajole, which we cite from time to time in other matters, not least schoolwork. It's been a pleasure having you as Madeline's coach and mentor.”

“Coach James was good at teaching the kids to think about how the game is played intellectually and then apply it to the physical game. As a parent, I appreciated that Coach James emphasized that kids take ownership over their practice sessions, and team wins and losses. Over the year with James, I saw my daughter become more self-motivated and needed less and less reminders from me to practice—especially important during Covid quarantine.”

“We just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know that I have had kids with Celtic for 7 years, and you are providing some of the best coaching our players have received. The team has grown exponentially in their understanding of the game and how to play together, and Nico comes back from practice every day very excited with what he has learned. He also says that there is no "goofing off" which he really appreciates (and so do we). Thank you for all that you do.”

Thanks for your commitment and work with the boys. You have done a great job developing them. Best of luck in your new chapter.

— Matt Shaw (parent)

“Our daughter (G09) was lucky to have Coach James for several seasons where she improved as a player and really enjoyed the game. Coach James is great at teaching soccer skills and knowledge of the game while building independence, ownership, and confidence of players. He also has a great temperament as a coach, isn't one to bark out orders, rather remains calm, commands respect, and has fun. Coach James was also terrific at the transition to virtual sessions. He made the best use of technology, creating work plans for players in google docs, communicating details to families, and asking each player to select skills to master and demonstrate to teammates."
